ECOMOND Association

ECOMOND Association, is located in Horezu Town, Valcea County, a region that preserves intratraditional values and tries to perpetuate them to the young generation. Horezu is at the heart of the valley which characterizes a community united in its linguistic, cultural and traditional features. Traditional pottery, wood crafts, fabrics represent values Association Ecomond help to promote those values, encouraging the preservation of tradition and valuing manufactured products with a lot of hard work by locals. The Horezu renamed pottery – unique to Romania through its chromatics and floral motives – is emblematic of the region. It aims to develop and extend local handicraft . They are interested in learning about other cultures, to take part in a European project and to know other people with the same interests. The adults enrolled in our organization are preoccupied with discovering the new methods of teaching and learning from their fields and applying them in their teaching.

Horezu area is an area with a tourism and economic developments in traditions, customs, local culture is a pro rata to the future evolution of the area. Perpetuations of traditional crafts, the worth of these are priorities for all local community. Another important factor is that the area currently is favored because apart from traditional economic activity has to offer other opportunities that the local population. Ecomond Asociation encourage life healthy, tradition and youth and adult involvement.

Ecomond is a youth non-profit organization preoccupied with culture, ecology, art and youth problems. We especially work with young people in order to keep alive our local culture, to teach them to respect our values and live peacefully and perfect communion with nature and the European values. The activities is development and realization of different projects. We participated in project with French young , Polish and other partners. We are interested in learning about other cultures, to take part in a European project and to know other people with the same interests.. Our organization includes young students who are interested in ecology, customs and traditions, environment protection, culture, sport , social problems, community activities . The organization includes the youngsters with fewer opportunities (social ,economic ,cultural, educational).

Horezu, a small mountain town, is situated in the south-western part of the country and is famous-nationally and internationally for a wonderful tradition, that has been preserved and passed over from generation: pottery.
The landscapes are amazing and the people’s hospitality is impressive.
These are the reasons why tourism is the main preoccupation of the officials and the local people.
Our school Gr. S. “Constantin Brancoveanu” Horezu is well-equipped and one of the biggest schools in the region, as over 2000 students are educated here by 100 teachers and engineers every year. The school provides education for both primary students-who start school at the age of 6 or 7 – and secondary students-who finish it in their eighteens or nineteens. Our students study English and French as foreign languages and some of them have already been integrated in a few projects in the past few years. That is why our school is really interested in getting involved in other European projects, as this is a great opportunity for both our students and our teachers to broaden their cultural horizon by learning more about other cultures and other traditions; to understand the need for better education and equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their social or cultural background.
We intend to increase our students’ motivation for learning by interaction with other students from different European countries, even through the use of modern communication and technology. These intercultural activities could help them improve their abilities and know themselves better and offer them the chance to become more tolerant and accept the idea of ’’difference’’ among people.

Notre organisation , Ecomond , est constitue des jeunes qui etudie au lycee ou sont students

Interessés par la diversitée culturelle, l’ecologie , l’apprentissage des lanques et des cultures étrangères l’arte. Des élèves souhaitent beaucoup participer a cette expérience de la découverte de l’autre et de soi ce qui, à cause des raisons économiques et sociales, leur est souvent impossible.

Notre avenir est dans l’Europe et le programme européen jeunesse et tout particulièrement les échanges de jeunes sont le vrai tremplin pour eux pour comprendre, tout en étant valorisé dans leur projet. Le projet permetre decouvrir autre culture et autre modalite du travaille et d’apprentisage.
